The Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda d' Angola religious tradition is an independent religious tradition which is not associated with any type of religious philosophy or theology of the Afro-Brazilian Umbanda religious tradition. Both anthropologist and initiates of the Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda d' Angola religious tradition believe that this particular tradition may be the oldest line of the Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda religion. The historical magical usage of the Athame as a magical tool dates back to the Middle Ages to various magical occult Grimoires of "Solomonic Goetia Rites".The Afro-Brazilian Quimbanda d' Angola religious tradition believe that the pantheon of spirits called Exu and Pomba Gira are highly evolved spiritual forces that govern over the African Orishas(Saints) and are only subject of being governed over by the Nkisi (Congo Spirits).
